Team management
You can invite other people to your Costello workspace — for example, a front-desk manager or a business partner. Each person signs in with their own account and has a defined role.
Roles
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything: billing, settings, team management, channels, knowledge base |
| Admin | Everything except billing and deleting the workspace |
| Member | View conversations and activity; cannot change settings or connect channels |
Each workspace has exactly one Owner. Ownership can be transferred to another Admin (see below).
Inviting someone
- Go to Settings → Team.
- Click Invite member.
- Enter their email address and choose a role.
- Click Send invite.
The invitee receives an email with a link to accept. If they don't already have a Costello account, they'll be prompted to create one first. Invitations expire after 7 days — if they don't accept in time, re-send from the same page.
Changing someone's role
- Go to Settings → Team.
- Find the team member and click Edit next to their name.
- Select the new role and save.
Role changes take effect immediately.
Removing a team member
- Go to Settings → Team.
- Click Remove next to the member you want to remove.
- Confirm.
Removed members lose access instantly. Their previous activity (conversations viewed, edits made) remains in the audit log. You can re-invite them later if needed.
Transferring ownership
Only the current Owner can transfer ownership to another Admin:
- Go to Settings → Team.
- Click the current Owner badge next to your name.
- Select Transfer ownership and choose the new owner.
- Confirm with your password.
After transfer, you become an Admin. There is always exactly one Owner per workspace.
