Invoices and receipts

Where to find and download your Costello invoices, and how to add VAT or company details.

Invoices and receipts

Costello generates a PDF invoice automatically for every payment. You can download them at any time from your billing history.

Finding your invoices

  1. Go to Settings → Billing in your workspace.
  2. Scroll to Billing history.
  3. Click Download next to any payment to get the PDF invoice.

Invoices are available immediately after each successful payment and are stored indefinitely — you can download invoices from any previous billing period.

Adding company or VAT details

If you need a company name, address, or VAT number on your invoices:

  1. Go to Settings → Billing → Billing details.
  2. Enter your company name, address, and VAT number.
  3. Save. The details will appear on all future invoices.

Note: Billing details only apply to invoices generated after you save them. Existing invoices are not retroactively updated.

VAT

Costello is a UK-based business. VAT (20%) is charged on subscriptions for UK customers. If you are a VAT-registered business, enter your VAT number in Billing details and it will appear on your invoice for your own VAT reclaim purposes.

If you are based outside the UK, VAT may not apply depending on your jurisdiction — the correct amount is calculated at checkout based on your billing address.

Payment method

You can update your payment card at any time under Settings → Billing → Payment method. Changes take effect for the next billing cycle — they do not affect any current outstanding charge.

If a payment fails (e.g. an expired card), Costello will retry after 3 days and send you an email notification. If the retry also fails, your workspace is downgraded to Free until a valid payment method is added.

Requesting a custom invoice

If you need a specific format or something not available in your dashboard (for example an invoice addressed to a different entity), submit a support case → with the details and the team will send one within 2 business days.
